My client has been a leading provider of well testing services and completion flowbacks - both onshore and offshore - for more than 30 years, require Service Supervisors to take part in a multi million dollar project. This role will be based in Aberdeen and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
The main purpose of the position is to control the subsea well intervention system on location, in a professional, competent and safe manner in order to satisfy the client’s requirements. Initially this will involve liaising with our Controls partner to help integrate and test the Control system to ensure a fit for purpose field system. This will be the most complicated ROV control system ever deployed.
Job Knowledge and Experience
• Degree or equivalent qualification i.e. HNC in Electrical Engineering.
• Extensive experience in wells related subjects including the specific technology being provided
• Minimum 5 -7 year’s relevant oilfield experience. Must be fully competent on all ROV operations and functions.
• Effective communicator – able to keep the Client and Management informed at all times
• Experienced in the control systems of ROVs and the HMIs. Be able to communicate between field requirements and engineering design.
Duties
• Initially to field test the project winch on land location prior to taking it Subsea.
• Able to compile a comprehensive, unambiguous and complete end of job report.
• Flexible and adaptable
• To successfully operate and to have sufficient working knowledge of ROVs and Control Systems.
• To produce instrument performance reports and equipment status sheet on completion of the job and ensure they are copied to the Maintenance Supervisors.
• Communicate to Line Supervisors/Manager any concerns, suggestions, ideas and improvements.
• Remain fully informed on software changes, tool upgrades and recent operational problems.
• Must be able to supervise and coordinate operators on/at the job location
• Assist in the base, making reports, packing kits etc. when required.
• Attend pre and post test Client meetings when required.
• To train other engineers in specific areas of your expertise when required by the Operations Manager.
• To stand in for the Operations Manager/Operations Support Engineer on request.
• To prepare and implement Cased Hole Services projects or campaigns with minimum supervision.
• Should also be competent and capable in presenting Log Data to Client On-site Engineer.
